How to Change the Battery on a Renault Captur 1.5 Dci

To change the battery on a Renault Captur, open the bonnet. The battery is located to the right of the engine. Unscrew the support plate using a long 13 mm socket. Remove the black negative terminal first, followed by the red positive terminal. Remove the intake pipe or you will not be able to pull the battery out of its housing. Now you can grab the handle and remove the battery. Clean the inside of the terminals to remove any corrosion. Take the new battery and remove the protective caps. Apply copper grease to the terminals. Insert the new battery. Reattach the terminals starting with the red positive terminal using a 10 mm socket, then the black negative terminal. Refit the battery plate and replace the intake pipe. The job is complete.
