How to remove the fan resistor on the Renault Twingo.

Model: Renault Twingo Twingo 1 - Years 1993-2007
Part: Blower motor

In this video we see how to remove the fan resistor on the Renault Twingo: We need to dismantle the entire dashboard: we remove the cassette from which we access the fuses; then we will have to remove the three screws that hold the dashboard in place at the top. Now we remove the lower part of the steering cover; we turn the steering wheel completely to access the upper cover, and we also remove that. We remove the left part of the steering wheel, a small shield, then the right part starting from the ashtray, then the plate that supports it, held by 4 screws at the bottom and two at the top above the air conditioning buttons, removed which the entire frame will come off. We remove the plugs, and the two screws that hold the part with the knobs in place; here too there are electrical plugs to be removed. We finish removing the dashboard at the bottom. There are screws at the back of the knobs and at the bottom, two of which will have to be removed mechanically, then at the top, where we had previously removed the cover. Now the dashboard is free and we can move it aside. On the passenger side we will find the resistor we are interested in: it is screwed right under the dashboard. We will have to unscrew it, then remove the electrical connectors to which it is connected and finally extract it, in order to be able to replace it.

Tips on How to Change the Glow Plugs on 1.3 MJT Engines

The 1.3 CDTI engine is used in many models from Fiat, Lancia, Opel, and Suzuki, making glow plug wear a common issue. The glow plugs are located at the front of the engine, just in front of the rocker cover. Simply remove the engine cover to locate them. A quick functionality check can be done by disconnecting the connector and gently touching the glow plug with an electric wire connected to the positive terminal of the battery: if a spark occurs, the glow plug is fine. A problem that may arise during replacement is that the glow plug may not unscrew. It is advisable to spray some penetrating oil and let it sit overnight before unscrewing it with an 8 mm socket. Before installing the new one, apply some special grease and do not exceed the torque specification.
