Replacement of Car Shock Absorbers

If your car has covered more than 62,000 miles, you should proceed with the replacement of the shock absorbers, which serve to cushion the vehicle's bumps and enhance safety while cornering. This is a procedure that can be done alone without needing to visit your trusted mechanic. First, lift the left side of the car and remove the wheel, ensuring you take off all four bolts that hold it in place. Next, open the bonnet by pulling the appropriate lever and remove all four screws located above the shock absorber. Subsequently, also remove the two screws found on the driveshaft and the one on the stabiliser that runs parallel to the shock absorber, which will then come away easily.
