How does the e-call service of the Seat Tarraco work?

The e-call system of the Seat Tarraco is an emergency call service for assistance and information. In the event of a serious accident that triggers the airbag, the system automatically makes an emergency call to the emergency services without the driver needing to intervene. In the case of an accident where the airbag has been deployed, the infotainment system will display a message on the screen with the option to manually call emergency services. If we find ourselves in a dangerous situation and need to call for help manually, we should press and hold the SOS button on the roof, located near the interior light, for more than 3 seconds, and confirm the notifications that appear on the system's screen. For roadside assistance, this is activated with a dedicated button marked with an "i." During the e-call, we will be contacted by a specialized operator; the system sends the precise location of the vehicle via GPS; the operator assesses the situation and alerts the necessary services. To use the service, it is necessary to be connected to the cellular network and for the service to be active and enabled.
