In this video, a father of three explains how he solved the problem of fitting three child seats in the rear seat of his Seat Arona. Depending on the children's ages, there were various stages. The goal was to fit all three seats in the back, but the seats for children over 3 years old are quite wide and, when placed side by side, exceeded the width of the rear seat. The resourceful father modified the seats by cutting the plastic side armrests (first removing the covers and trimming some edges). This way, the seats fit perfectly next to each other, bringing them closer together by a few centimetres. The user is aware that cutting the armrests voids the seats' approval; however, they remain safe as they keep the child elevated and allow the use of internal straps or the car's seat belts. In this regard, these remain "buried" under the seats: he obtained "rigid seat belt extensions" that can be found under this term on all major online sales platforms. It is important that the extension is "rigid" (with a metal piece and not a flexible belt section), otherwise the buckle risks going back under the seat.
