How to Change the Battery of the Seat Mii Petrol

Model: Seat Mii MK 1 - Years 2011-2021

This procedure is valid for both the Seat Mii and its sister models, the Volkswagen Up and Skoda Citigo. Open the bonnet: the battery is located on the right side of the engine bay. Using a socket spanner, unscrew the nut that secures the metal support plate, then remove the plate. Disconnect the negative terminal (the black one) first, ensuring that the cable is well away to prevent accidental contact with the terminal. Now repeat the operation with the positive terminal (red). Remove the plastic cover and lift out the battery. Clean the battery tray and prepare the terminals by cleaning them with sandpaper to remove any oxidation. Apply a thin layer of copper grease on the terminals and inside the cleaned connectors. Position the battery, reattach the plastic cover, connect the positive terminal first, then the negative, reattach the support, and close the bonnet.
