If you own a first-generation Skoda Octavia (2003) and want to replace the battery inside the key yourself, simply follow the steps outlined in this guide. First, take the car key and use a standard flat-head screwdriver to easily remove the protective cover.

Next, locate the exhausted battery and remove it, then insert a new CR2032 battery and reattach the protective cover correctly, taking care not to damage it. Finally, test the key's functionality and you are done.
