Do you need to remove the engine to change the head gasket of the Smart car?

Model: Smart Smart 451 - Years 2007-2015
Part: Engine

In this video we see how to change the burnt gasket from the engine cylinder head of a Smart 451: Unfortunately, to do this operation it is necessary to remove the engine from the car; definitely not an easy operation, as all the cables must be disconnected as well; once removed, including the rear axle with wheels, the engine will show itself as the true heart of the car. Among the comments on the video, there was also someone who had the same experience but did not remove the entire engine; they had made four M12x1.5x28" long bolts, with which they supported the engine mount. They would replace the bolts of the mount with the long ones in order to create space without having to remove all the cables.

For installation: Take the new knob and slide it onto the stick in the centre console, securing it in place; fit the new leather gaiter (plastic frame) using clips and all the trim plastics. Test the correct operation of the part.
