How to remove the tailgate of the Smart Fortwo

Model: Smart Smart 451 - Years 2007-2015
Part: Checks and maintenance

How do I remove the tailgate of the Smart Fortwo to repair the lock? Let's see in this video how to disassemble it: we release and lower the tailgate of our car, with a socket wrench we remove the locking pins placed on both sides of it (where the support cables are connected). We remove the plastic placed on the tailgate of the luggage compartment, disconnect any power supply terminals. We remove the defective lock and reassemble a new one. We proceed in the same way for the reassembly of the plastics and the attached pieces by proceeding backwards in the operations.
