How to Open the Boot of a Smart Fortwo

This is a very simple maintenance task. To open the rear boot of a Smart Fortwo, press the button located above the handle of the rear boot, then lift the glass. The boot of the Smart is divided into two sections. Pull the lever upwards until the lock clicks; lower the rear boot until it locks into place on the metal guides. Carry out maintenance inside the boot or the engine compartment. To close the boot, lift the lower section first, then the upper section (rear window).
