How to adjust the automatic transmission of the Smart Fortwo

Below we will see the instructions that will allow us to carry out the adaptation of the automatic transmission of the Smart Fortwo. In order to carry out the adaptation, it is necessary to use a specific diagnostic software, to be connected to the OBD socket of the vehicle; in this specific case, the transmission is electrically connected but removed (separated) from the engine, as shown in the video. The adaptation of the automatic transmission motors will then be launched from the tool, performing a reset; once the adaptation is completed, it will be possible to disconnect the tool and reassemble the transmission.

Lift the car on a column lift and (at your preferred height) use a socket wrench to unscrew the sump plug, allowing the oil to drain into a container (for disposal) and then re-screw the plug.
