Here are the instructions to open the doors of the vehicle in case of an emergency with a flat remote battery on a Smart Fortwo. To open the doors, simply insert the physical key into the lock cylinder located under the driver's side door handle, turning it to unlock the doors.

Use the same key to start the engine. Then, restore the remote's functionality by opening it and replacing the battery with a new one (with the same specification).
