In this short guide we will see the main instructions for disassembling and replacing the timing chain on the Smart Fortwo 450, with a 600 0 700 petrol engine. First we go to lift the car, removing the oil pan; then we go to detach the engine from the body, unscrewing the fixing pins. At this point we remove the service belt and disassemble the timing cover, unscrewing all the screws; then we remove the top of the cylinder head and part of its wiring. Let's carry out the belt replacement procedure, following the video to the end!
