Let's find out the procedure needed to disassemble and replace the starter motor on the Smart Fortwo 450, first series, by following the instructions below. First of all we lift the car and start by removing the service belt; now remove the alternator, so as to be able to access the starter motor, by unscrewing the fixing screws. At this point we unscrew all the screws of the starter motor, disconnecting the power cable, in order to remove it; we just have to replace it with the new one, applying the reverse procedure for reassembly!

Pull off the coils by hand and unscrew the spark plugs with the socket wrench, finally pulling them out of the cylinder head.
