To replace the clutch on a Smart 451, access the engine compartment, located directly under the rear tailgate. Here, you will need to loosen the bolts securing the gearbox, accessing the clutch situated between the engine block and the gearbox itself. Once the clutch is removed and any obstructing parts are taken out, you can also extract the diaphragm spring, replacing both components. After installing the new part, reassemble all the components that were removed.
