CV Joint Boot Replacement

Lift the vehicle on a lift and remove the wheel corresponding to the driveshaft to be repaired.
Unclip the retaining clips of the boot and pull the boot back to expose the retaining circlip of the joint. Using a small flat screwdriver, unclip and remove the circlip. Remove the retaining bolts of the hub from the shock absorber but before doing so, mark the position of the upper bolt with a punch (one hit on the head of the bolt and one aligned with the shock absorber bracket) as it is eccentric and adjusts the wheel camber. Then pull the hub to extract only the driveshaft cross from its seat, taking care not to dislodge the support from the gearbox causing oil to spill out.
Using pliers, remove the retaining circlip of the cross and extract it from the shaft complete with the rollers (or rings), taking care of their orientation (the thin part should be on the outside).
Then remove the damaged boot and insert the new one. Reposition the cross on the driveshaft and secure it with the appropriate circlip. Fully grease the cross with suitable grease for CV joints until the boot is completely filled. Then insert the rings respecting the correct mounting position (thin part on the outside) and fit the joint into the support.
Reassemble the hub retaining bolts to the shock absorber, orienting the upper bolt to align with the previously marked punch marks.
Then insert the circlip retaining the joint to the support into the designated groove, position the boot and tighten the retaining clips.
Reassemble the wheel.
