To correctly replace the key battery of your Subaru Legacy Mk5, simply follow the instructions in this mini guide. First, get a flathead screwdriver and use it to open the cover.

Once done, remove the entire battery holder located inside and open it using the flat screwdriver as well. Finally, remove the old exhausted battery and insert the new one, ensuring it is a CR1620. At this point, reassemble the various components you removed earlier and test the key's functionality.
