This guide provides instructions to remove and replace the battery of the key fob for the Subaru Outback. First, take the key fob and remove the physical key from inside it; then, use the gap created to pry open the fob into two parts, as illustrated in the video.

At this point, remove and replace the battery with a new one of the correct type (in this case, a CR 2032 3V); insert the new battery the right way round and then reassemble the fob, following the video tutorial to the end!
