How to Clean the MAF Sensor on a Suzuki Vitara with J20A Engine

The MAF sensor on the Suzuki Vitara with the J20A engine is located in the intake duct between the air filter box and the throttle body. It is easily recognised as a small sensor inserted in the duct, with an electrical connector on the top. You need a specific MAF sensor cleaner (DO NOT use WD-40, degreasers, or compressed air) such as LiquiMoly, which can be found under code B00295EEBK at a price of £11.72, with free delivery for MAF customers. Disconnect the battery, open the bonnet, and locate the sensor in the intake duct; disconnect the electrical connector, remove the retaining clips, spray the cleaner from a distance of 15 cm, and allow it to air dry for a few minutes. Insert the cleaned sensor back into its place, reconnect the connector, reconnect the negative battery cable, and you're done. Perform a final check by starting the engine and letting it run at idle for a few minutes to allow the ECU to adapt.
