Suzuki Swift - Video tutorial

Model: Suzuki Swift Rs41, MK 4 - Years 2004-2010
Part: Checks and maintenance
Operation: Complete MOT of a Suzuki Swift

We do an essential service on a Suzuki Swift: even if we have to change the oil, let's check the level, to make sure there hasn't been any abnormal consumption. We leave the top cap open to allow for a complete bleed from the side of the sump. If we lift the car, we put jack stands to prevent it from falling on our heads. We use a 14 mm socket wrench and place a basin under the cup. We will then dispose of the used oil at an authorized centre. We then also disassemble the oil filter, which will also drain the oil. To change the air filter we go back to the hood, and at the top of the manifold, remove the dirty filter and replace it. You can find the complete kit for the Suzuki Swift service on E-bay (for example) consisting of 4 liters of SAE 5W30 synthetic oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and cabin filter for 44.99 euros. Now we go back under the car and check that the oil pan cap gasket is in good condition. Let's put it back in its place and then change the oil filter, wetting the gasket well with the new oil. We tighten the filter by hand. We lower the car and load the new oil. If we have a funnel we are good to go. If we have a bottleneck it's all the same. Otherwise, as our youtuber teaches us, we can slide the oil along the oil dipstick and it will go straight into the tank. Of course, it will take a little longer, but we can do it. We're also going to replace the pollen filter, which is located behind the glovebox. We will find a flap with two side hooks, which we will open and behind it we will find the filter. We will clean the compartment and change the filter with the new one, remembering that the arrow always goes downwards. Naturally we also have to check if the wiper level is the right one, like the coolant level, the brake oil level; in short, the classic level control.
