To replace the passenger airbag on a Toyota RAV 4, open the glove compartment on the passenger side to access the screws securing the upper dashboard cover. Once the panel is removed, locate the underlying airbag, which can be freed from its housing by disconnecting all the appropriate connectors.

After the old airbag has been removed, connect the new one, insert it back into the dashboard, and reattach the removed panel.
