Learn how to change the oil in the gearbox of a Toyota Rav 4. Position your car on a column lift (jack) and raise it to a comfortable height for disassembly. To change the gearbox oil: remove the plastic or metal panel located under the engine (if present), then, using a socket spanner, unscrew the large bolt located under the gearbox.

Once the bolt is removed, allow the fluid to drain into a disposal container. Prepare to refit the bolt on the gearbox with the spanner, then locate the filler cap on the gearbox and top up with the appropriate fluid.

Finally, test the correct operation of the gearbox.
