How to Remove a Rear Seat

Model: Toyota Prius MK 1 - Years 2004-2009

This first part of the video explains the procedure for removing the rear seat of a Toyota Prius to install a hybrid battery. After illustrating the battery and the necessary tools (ratchet with extensions and sockets of 8, 10, 12 mm), open the boot, remove its "floor" and the panel near the headrest. Also, remove the side panels. Unscrew and take out the left side tray, and with your hands, detach the lower edge of the boot. Proceed to remove the rear seat cushions and detach the entire assembly. Using a 14 mm socket, unscrew the bolts securing the lower part of the rear seat. After removing the seats, look for space to accommodate the battery, then using the ratchet, unscrew the two bolts as shown in the video and remove the plastic board. With a 10 mm socket, also unscrew the bolts securing the left side panel and remove it. Remove the right panel using the 10 mm socket as well.
