How to Remove a Rear Seat

This first part of the video explains the procedure for removing the rear seat of a Toyota Prius to install a hybrid battery. After illustrating the battery and the necessary tools (ratchet with extensions and sockets of 8, 10, 12 mm), open the boot, remove its "floor" and the panel near the headrest.

Also, remove the side panels. Unscrew and take out the left side tray, and with your hands, detach the lower edge of the boot.

Proceed to remove the rear seat cushions and detach the entire assembly. Using a 14 mm socket, unscrew the bolts securing the lower part of the rear seat.

After removing the seats, look for space to accommodate the battery, then using the ratchet, unscrew the two bolts as shown in the video and remove the plastic board. With a 10 mm socket, also unscrew the bolts securing the left side panel and remove it. Remove the right panel using the 10 mm socket as well.

How to Remove the Rear Seat of a Hyundai Tucson?

To remove the rear seat of a Hyundai Tucson, follow these steps. Start by moving the front seats to their most forward position to gain space. Next, locate the release lever on the underside of the rear seat, near the floor. Press this lever down while pulling the seat upwards to unlock it from the anchor pins. Once unlocked, tilt the seat upwards and forwards to remove it from its position. Repeat this process for both sides of the rear seat. Be careful of any electrical cables or components that may be connected to the seat during removal. Once the rear seat is removed, the disassembly is complete.
