How to Replace the Exterior Door Handle on a Toyota Camry XV40

This guide shows how to replace the exterior door handle on a Toyota Camry XV40. After removing the service light from the door, disconnect the trim piece from the mirror and the handle's backplate. Remove the inner cover of the door handle and take out the plastic clip on the inner side of the panel. Remove the three Phillips screws and take off the inner door panel. Disconnect the electrical connectors and lock cables, and remove the insulating sheet from the door. Remove the retaining clip of the lock actuator and, from the door side, take off the protective cap of the Torx T30 screw and the other screw from inside the door. Remove the lock cylinder and lever, and from inside the door, the mechanism. Remove the seals and install the new kit. Reassemble the entire door panel and check the proper operation of the lock.
