Changing Tyres and Cleaning the Brake Caliper on a Toyota Rav 4

Position the vehicle on a level surface, without incline, and secure it by engaging the handbrake and putting it in first gear. Loosen the wheel nuts and position the jack to begin lifting the vehicle. For safety, place axle stands and put a board (or suitable chocks) in front of the front wheels to secure the vehicle. You can now remove the jack, and the car will be held by the axle stands. Unscrew the bolts from the wheel and remove it from the hub. At this point, using a bucket with degreaser, start cleaning the brake caliper with a brush. It is advisable to also use brake cleaner spray, which has triple action to clean, lubricate, and protect your braking system and all its components. Once done, remount the seasonal tyre (summer and/or winter). Lightly screw the wheel nuts, reposition the jack, and lift the vehicle. Now remove the axle stands and lower the vehicle from the jack. Afterwards, you can tighten the wheel nuts securely. For a proper job, tighten the nuts using a torque wrench, referring to the manufacturer's specifications or the maintenance manual. Always check your work before driving.
