To replace the remote battery on a Toyota Auris, extract the key from the top of the device by pressing the button that allows extraction. Once the key is removed from its housing, pry inside its compartment so that the two halves of the remote separate, giving access to the battery. The old battery can then be removed from its housing and replaced with a new spare part: after replacement, close the remote by inserting the key.
