In this video, we can see where the auxiliary battery is located in the Toyota Prius and how to proceed in case we need to replace it. As shown, it is not located inside the engine compartment like in most vehicles but is inside the trunk. To access it and then remove it, we first open the tailgate, then lift the bottom panel and remove the plastic basket. Once this is done, we can disconnect both terminals starting with the positive one, unscrew the mounting bracket bolts, and remove the battery from its housing. We follow the reverse procedure to install the replacement.
