How to Replace the Rear Shock Absorber

Model: Toyota Verso MK 4 - Years 2009-2018

Place the car on a ramp and lift it to a height that allows you to work comfortably. Remove the rear wheel corresponding to the shock absorber to be replaced. Lift the wheel with a hydraulic jack. Open the boot. Lower the rear seat backs and, using the appropriate spanner, undo the bolts securing the lower plastic cover. Remove it. Now undo the screws securing the side trim corresponding to the shock absorber to be replaced, and take it off. Undo the bolts securing the top of the shock absorber. From underneath the wheel, undo the bolt that secures the shock absorber to the axle. Remove the hydraulic jack and take out the shock absorber. Using a special tool, compress the spring and undo the bolt to remove the components above the spring. Replace the spring and reassemble the components above it. Refit the shock absorber onto the car following the reverse procedure. The car on which the maintenance operation is performed is a Toyota Verso.
