In this video we see how to repair the gear linkage that has loosened or broken. In this case, there is a good chance that the collar that holds the two parts together has simply broken, but the problem is that this component, for most car manufacturers, does not exist as a spare part; we would be forced to buy the entire cable, which is a rather expensive piece. The youtuber shows us how to instead build the collar with a shock absorber bushing and some washers, with a very low cost, starting from a rudimentary technical drawing. The important thing is to find something that has exactly the same inner diameter; we need to be a little creative. We will also need some grease to lubricate the parts, create the right thickness with the washers and close it well.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y
