In this case, there is a good chance that the collar that holds the two parts together has simply broken, but the problem is that this component, for most car manufacturers, does not exist as a spare part; we would be forced to buy the entire cable, which is a rather expensive piece. The youtuber shows us how to instead build the collar with a shock absorber bushing and some washers, with a very low cost, starting from a rudimentary technical drawing. The important thing is to find something that has exactly the same inner diameter; we need to be a little creative. We will also need some grease to lubricate the parts, create the right thickness with the washers and close it well.

How to Open a Stuck Boot on the Peugeot 407?
