The airbag system consists of various safety systems of various types. The safety system consists of seat belts, collision sensors, airbags, and wiring. These components work together to ensure the safety of the occupants of the car in case of an accident. Once the car is turned on, the airbag light on the dashboard will flash for a few seconds. If the light remains on in yellow or red, it means that one of the components related to the safety system is not functioning correctly. The main causes are: mechanical damage to the components, disconnected or incorrectly connected connectors, software malfunction, incorrect installation of the new airbag after replacement, malfunction of the accelerometer, or incorrect replacement of the battery. To understand the error, a diagnosis must be performed using a scanner. The scanner will find the error and be able to reset the light if the problem is at the software level, otherwise, the problem will be presented through the scan but it will be necessary to go to the workshop to resolve it. Driving with the airbag light on is never a good idea because in case of an accident the system may not activate. Also, it is always advisable to wear seat belts while driving because in the event of an accident, the deployment of the airbag could still cause injury.
