Spacers are used to widen the track, by mounting them between the car hub and the wheel. However, the legality of spacers is a rather complex issue: there is no absolute prohibition, but there are limits. Spacers must be approved, and the widening of the track cannot exceed the vehicle's silhouette in any case, as the youtuber also mentions in the video.
