In this video, we are explained how a generic electric parking brake works, specifically how to deactivate this component; normally, all you have to do is put the gear in and the parking brake disengages, and you can engage it again by putting the lever in the "P" position, meaning "parking"; but if we deactivate it with the brake engaged by pressing and holding it for five seconds, the interlock brake is deactivated, and it will not engage automatically anymore, but we will have to activate it manually. If we want to reactivate the interlock function, we will have to press again for five seconds.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y
