A quick way to unlock an electric seat.

In this video, we can see a quick way to unlock an electric seat; a useful emergency trick for disassembling a seat or in case of a malfunction. Typically, this is needed if the seat is stuck in an unusable position, or if there is a blown fuse. We need a 12V DC power source: ideally, a spare car battery, two cables with alligator clips, and basic knowledge: each seat motor (forward/backward, height, backrest tilt) has two wires, and reversing the polarity changes the direction of movement. First, we disconnect the car battery, then locate the seat motor. We disconnect the connector and will see two or more metal pins on the motor side. We connect the external power by attaching the two cables with alligator clips to the two pins of the motor; we connect the other end of the cables to the terminals of the spare battery. If it doesn't move, we swap the cables. Now it should start moving in the desired direction. If we need to adjust the height or backrest, we repeat the process with the dedicated motor.
