Removing the Gear Knob from Your Car

Remove the gear knob from your car? Here's how to do it. Use a screwdriver to remove the plastic ring under the knob, then detach it from the rod. Remove the leather gaiter from the edge of the centre console, and detach the trim using a plastic lever. Take the new gaiter (same size) and fit it onto the rod on the centre console, securing the clips of the trim. Install the new knob and secure it with the plastic ring. If the knob does not have a locking ring: secure it on top of the rod or screw it down until fully threaded.
