Is the gear gaiter damaged? Let's look at removing the knob and then how to remove the gaiter. Take the knob in your hands and rotate it left and right until you can remove it from the gear stick. Use a plastic lever to detach the frame of the leather gaiter: disconnect the plastic that secures the gaiter to the stick. Fit the gaiter over the stick, then take the new knob and slide it onto the stick in the centre console until it is tightened fully. Ensure the correct assembly of the gaiter and gear knob pieces.
