Today, you will learn how to replace the radio aerial if the extension mechanism is broken. You will install a fixed aerial, available from any car accessory retailer or online. Start by removing the old aerial by rotating the external terminal; next, detach the extension mechanism, which can be found inside the rear bonnet. Once all pieces are removed, you will have only the plastic support fixed to the bodywork. You can choose to reuse it by cutting the inner circular plastic part. This way, you can install the new aerial by placing the necessary attachment mechanism with the connector for the radio system inside the wing, and the new aerial on the outside, secured by rotating it onto the support. To ensure no water ingress, you can use silicone to waterproof the contact points between the bodywork and the support.
