Today we see how to replace the radio antenna in case the extension mechanism is broken. We are going to mount a fixed antenna, which can be purchased at any car accessories retailer or online. We have to go and disassemble the old antenna by turning the external terminal; then we go to detach the extension mechanism, which we can find in the inside of the rear hood. Once all the pieces have been removed, we will only have the plastic support which is fixed to the bodywork. We can decide to reuse it by cutting the internal circular part in plastic. In this way we can assemble the new antenna by placing the necessary coupling mechanism inside the mudguard with the connector for the radio system and on the outside the new antenna, fixed by rotating it on the support. To have greater safety in the absence of water infiltrations, we can use silicone in order to waterproof the contact points between the bodywork and the support.
