Everyone has questions about AdBlue. Urea (of which AdBlue is a commercial name) is a fertiliser. It is non-toxic and non-flammable. Of course, it is not safe to drink, but it is not harmful. When the European Union aimed to reduce vehicle emissions, this urea-based additive was developed for diesel engines, which reduces nitrogen oxides into water and nitrogen gas, components that are not harmful to the atmosphere. In contrast, nitrogen oxides are extremely dangerous to humans and the environment. AdBlue is used only for diesel vehicles because there is a lot of oxygen in the exhaust gases of diesel cars, which cannot be controlled, unlike petrol cars, where this component is burned by the engine more consistently. The consumption of this additive is very low; it ranges from 2% to 6% for every litre of diesel.
