When the AdBlue level in the tank starts to get low, a warning light illuminates on the instrument cluster, and after a few miles, the ECU enters recovery mode. This allows you to drive only at reduced speeds and revs. After that, when the engine is turned off, it will not restart unless you refill with AdBlue. Some cars may not restart even after refilling, and in this case, you will need to call a mechanic, which can be very costly. It is therefore advisable to always maintain adequate levels of AdBlue.
