In this video, you can see how to clean the oil pump of a chainsaw. First, remove the chain cover to clean the bar and chain; degrease them with petrol and a small brush, as shown in the video.

Clear the outlet hole of any lubricant residue, dust, etc. Always keep the oil pump reservoir clean; before refuelling, remove any dirt around the cap. Pour petrol into the oil reservoir and start the chainsaw for a while to clean the pump and its circuit.

Empty the reservoir and refill it with chain oil.
