How ESP works and why you shouldn't disable it.

Model: (Various brands) Various
Part: Instrument cluster

If you travel too fast or turn too sharply, sideways forces can make your vehicle unstable. ESP intervenes on these forces. ESP consists of: a speed sensor on each wheel; a revolution sensor measures the rotation of the vehicle on its own axis; a steering angle meter, measures the maneuver that the driver wants to perform. The control unit performs a calculation based on the sensor impulses and determines when and how to intervene. The hydraulic unit increases or decreases the braking pressure in the wheel brakes. What happens in the first steering manoeuvre? The driver swerves rapidly to the left; this maneuver is transmitted to the control unit, the rpm sensor transmits an understeer, ie that the car heads straight towards the obstacle. In a very short time, ESP brakes the left rear wheel so that the car performs the necessary steering. What happens during a countersteer? The vehicle is then countersteered, turning rearward to the left; the number of revolutions to the right is higher than necessary, and in this case the ESP brakes the front left wheel, reducing the number of revolutions and instead of skidding the vehicle remains stable.

How to deactivate the safe lock on a Volkswagen Golf.

The safe lock is indeed an anti-theft system that prevents thieves from accessing the car. This device locks the doors, both externally and internally, when the driver activates the central locking remote control after leaving the vehicle. To permanently disable it, it is necessary to use a diagnostic program such as VCDS that we will connect to the vehicle through the ODBII port. Then wait for the connection and recognition of the control unit and then select the blocks present and locate the safe lock to disable it. And the job will be completed.
