If our car doesn't accelerate, the problem may be the airflow meter. This device is a flow meter that measures the mass of air, and now they are electronic. The grids serve to straighten the air - literally - to allow the sensor inside to read it in the best way. This sensor has a hot filament inside (120°C). Based on the amount of air that passes, the filament cools down, and based on how much it cools down, we know how much current is needed to maintain the temperature. The ECU does this calculation, so if the airflow meter doesn't work or works poorly, the ECU is unable to do the right calculation, and if the car is in overtaking instead of delivering more fuel based on the airflow meter's request, it even puts it in protection mode.
