Maintaining proper tyre pressure is essential. Not only does it wear out faster, but it also increases fuel consumption. You should check the tyre pressure at least once a month; this can be done for free at service stations (although the gauges at service stations are less accurate than those at tyre shops) and should be performed when the tyres are cold. The correct pressures are listed in the owner's manual or on the metal plate located on the driver's door frame. Some cars have this information on the fuel filler flap. Naturally, the pressures vary if you are travelling with passengers or luggage.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y
