You can paint the exterior mirror caps using spray paint without going to a body shop. Gather the necessary items: a soft, clean cloth, sandpaper, a can of paint, and a can of lacquer.

Start by sanding the entire surface of the cap, then use the cloth to remove any dust residue. Apply three coats of spray paint, waiting for each coat to dry before applying the next.

Finally, apply the lacquer with two coats, allowing it to dry before reassembling the caps.
