In an internal combustion engine, there is a gasket that separates the combustion chambers from the cooling circuit. Failure of this component can lead to serious damage if not addressed promptly.

Here’s a simple "home" test to perform if you suspect issues, such as unusual coolant consumption. Open the bonnet and locate the coolant expansion tank; remove the cap and replace it with an elastic balloon or a latex glove.

Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. If the balloon does not inflate, all is well; however, if the balloon inflates, it indicates that combustion gases are passing through the gasket, and it’s advisable to intervene as soon as possible.

Next, locate the release lever on the underside of the rear seat, near the floor. Press this lever down while pulling the seat upwards to unlock it from the anchor pins.
