How to Clean the Radiator

You will need a product like Bardahl Radiator Cleaner, which can be found on the Bardahl website for £17.50; a 300 ml pack treats about 6 litres of coolant and is especially useful for older vehicles, where the coolant passage needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Since it's impossible to clean it piece by piece, we must rely on chemical assistance, circulating the additive through the system until the fan activates; drain everything and then run the system again with the additive. After that, manually clean the accessible parts, such as the expansion tank or the radiator (if still in good condition). This will improve the operating conditions of the "older" engine.
