In this video, the main problems of the PSA 1.5 Blue HDi engine are explained to us: first of all, we are made to listen to the characteristic noise of the stretched chain, which must be immediately addressed when heard; in fact, starting from January 2023, vehicles are equipped with a larger chain and new exhaust valves, in order to prevent the camshaft chain from breaking, even with low mileage. Those with pre-modification vehicles must take care of maintenance very carefully, and if the chain breaks, you will have to install the 7mm pre-modification chain, as the larger one would be impossible to install on that type of engine. Furthermore, the recommended oil has been changed from 0W30 to 5W30, which is more viscous and has different characteristics. Repairers outside the official network may not be aware of this modification, so make sure personally of what oil is being poured into your car.
