What are the issues with the PSA 1.2 Puretech engine?

In this video, we are explained in a simple and clear way what the problems of the PSA 1.2 Puretech petrol engine are. Basically, the problem with this engine is the timing belt that operates in oil. This oil can become contaminated with gasoline, precisely because of the belt, causing the oil to lose some of its lubricating power and start to damage the belt. This means that small pieces of the belt itself will mix with the engine oil and clog the vacuum pump, which in turn will cause the brake pedal to harden. In 2017, designers realized the problem and modified the belt, but not much changed; in 2021, there was a massive recall by Stellantis regarding all Peugeot, Citroen, Ds, and Opel models, but it only concerned the hardening of the brake pedal.
