How do you change the battery in the key fob of your Volkswagen Golf? In this detailed video, see how to do it. Take your key fob and press the release button of the metal key. Once the key is open, use a screwdriver to pry between the key cover and the plastic top cap. Pry until the cover cap opens. Remove the worn battery with a screwdriver, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Refit the cover on your key fob by pressing the key case until you hear it click into place. Check the proper functioning of the key fob.
