How do you adjust the handbrake of the Volkswagen Polo?

On the Volkswagen Polo, the procedure for adjusting the handbrake is done by lifting the part of the central tunnel that is located immediately behind the base of the lever. Once this plastic covering has been removed, it will be possible to locate the bolt underneath, which allows you to adjust the intensity of the handbrake: by tightening this bolt, the handbrake will be firmer and its travel will be shorter; conversely, by loosening the bolt, the handbrake will be softer and have a longer travel. After adjusting the handbrake, the panel can be repositioned.
