How to Adjust the Handbrake of the Volkswagen Polo?

To adjust the handbrake of the Volkswagen Polo, lift the part of the centre tunnel located immediately behind the base of the handbrake lever. Once this plastic cover is lifted, you will see the underlying bolt that allows you to adjust the handbrake tension: tightening the bolt will make the handbrake firmer and reduce its travel; conversely, loosening the bolt will make the handbrake softer and increase its travel. After adjusting the handbrake, reposition the plastic cover.
